OUR MOTTO

"Strengthen & Encourage"

(1 Thessalonians 3:2)

ABOUT U.S.

We are first brothers in Christ and second brothers in arms -- a double band of brothers.  We share a common love for the Lord and our country and are bonded through the various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.  We have over 170 years of combined military and federal service.  We are a trio of military ministries (MILMINs) with similar but varying missions.  We work together in a spirit of love and fellowship to glorify God as we seek to strengthen and encourage His people in the U.S. military.

Do you have loved ones serving in the military and are concerned about their spiritual welfare?  Do you have military personnel or veterans in your congregation?  Do you have the right resources to aid their unique spiritual needs?

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." (Ephesians 6:10-11)

He is a new U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary member at Whitesburg-Ditto Landing in Huntsville, Alabama, serving as a human resources staff officer and lay leader.  Ed is also the Founding Editor of Call To Duty's quarterly newsletter (formerly Military Messenger).

EVANGELIST

TOM WRIGHT was born in Iowa and raised on a farm. His wife, Carla, was born in Washington and raised in Florida.  After graduating high school, Tom served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era in Okinawa and is a disabled veteran.  After his discharge from the service, he graduated college and worked in Design Engineering for over two decades.  In his middle forties, Tom left secular work and entered full-time ministry.

He attended the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver, earning a Bachelor of Theology and a Master of Biblical Studies degree.  Since then, he has spent nearly thirty years serving God primarily as an evangelist, conducting infinite one-on-one, family, group, and church Bible studies.

However, even though Tom worked as a full-time minister and itinerant preacher for several churches of Christ, he eventually decided to continue his biblical education.  Since then, he has earned a Doctorate in Ministry (D.Min) and is working towards a Doctorate of Theology (D.Th) at one of the brotherhood Bible colleges.

Tom has authored and published thirteen books and booklets on various theological subjects.  He penned the chapter "Spiritual V-J (Victory in Jesus) Day" in the collaborative book "Spiritually Wounded Warriors: An Army of One Another."  Tom also pens articles for our quarterly newsletter.

Tom and Carla have two grown sons and their wives and four nearly full-grown grandchildren. Tom loves chess and reading.

CALL TO DUTY (formerly "Military Messenger") is a free quarterly e-newsletter founded by Ed Linebaugh in 2005.  Tony Turner, LTC, Infantry Officer (USMA/West Point), retired U.S. Army, is its Associate Editor.  Please email us to subscribe to the latest issue at more@minister.com.
